Custom Recordings for Theme Parks and Musical Theatre

One of the newer and more interesting services that I offer is the recording of backing tracks for live entertainment. My thousands of live performances, thousands of hours in recording studios from Cleveland to Nashville, and current involvement with both academic and professional theatre make producing these tracks a natural progression and a fascinating experience. My latest production is HA!: A Tale From Romania, an original musical by Dr. Calvin McClinton. |

| On this page you will find some selected and edited for time audio clips of Fright Fever, the 2004 Geauga Lake Halloween show. The director, Mark Stephens, wanted 5 distinct sections featuring 5 different styles of music: Disco, Broadway, Country, Rock, and Pop. It turned out to be about 25 songs (in medley form) in about 25 minutes. Sheet music was supplied for the Broadway section while all others I analyzed and arranged. What elements I did not perform myself (either traditionally or by MIDI or looping technology) were performed by staff musicians Ritch Underwood (guitar) or Tim Longfellow (keyboards). Using current technologies in my own digital project studio allowed me to deliver these recordings at a fraction of the cost of traditionally produced tracks. However, if you need a more traditional, large studio/live musician sound I can easily provide that too. |
